B.Ed. PROGRAMME

The college adheres to the semester-based, two-year B. Ed. curriculum designed by Tamilnadu Teachers Education University. The curriculum's vision statement is "Empowerment of future teachers with a value-embedded and competency-based teacher education curriculum to prepare them to be professionally competent, adaptive, and socially committed in order to tackle the challenges of a knowledge-based society." In order to actualize the stated vision and prepare future teachers who are fully ready to instruct students of the 21st century, several unique themes have been offered and various instructional methodologies have been recommended by incorporating technology into future classrooms. Several aspects were incorporated into the curriculum, including a new emphasis on educational technology, the introduction of the concept of pedagogic and techno-pedagogic content knowledge analysis, evidence-based performance evaluation, the development of teacher competencies, entrepreneurship in education, and the development of professionalism, among others. In accordance with the "NCTE Regulations 2014," the programme consists of three main curricular areas: Perspectives in Education/core areas, Curriculum and Pedagogic studies/Optional subjects, and Engagement with the field/Practical courses.

M.Ed. DEGREE PROGRAMME

The vision statement of the M.Ed. curriculum, which reads: Make education the Global Positioning System (GPS) of human resources and Intellectual Property Rights (IPS) of our nation, as well as make citizens capable of undertaking innovations in the new millennium, represents the aspiration of a nation that relies on its teachers to shape a generation of 21st-century learners who are not only able to critically analyse themselves and engage in meaningful decision-making, but who are also able to engage in meaningful society.
The current two-year curriculum includes modern educational thought and the most recent pedagogical and research advances, while retaining the finest practises of the existing curriculum. In keeping with the spirit of Problem-Based Practicum and Reflective Practices established in the previous curriculum, the present edition promotes field-based experiences for aspiring teachers in all areas of teacher school. The emphasis placed on Evidence-Based continuous assessment in accordance with competency-based performance indicators is an important addition to the current curriculum. The performance indicators will be determined based on the mental processes that the prospective teacher endures during the implementation of the curriculum; hence, emphasis will be placed on process-based classroom procedures and reflective sessions facilitated by guided exploration.
